There is a lot to discuss from this weeks class as it focused on technologically advanced imagery being used to support classroom learning, and there are so many variations in which they are be useful. Images are everywhere in the classroom, and they always have been everywhere, on paper or posters or engraved within technology. Teachers nowadays always use technology and during their lectures or lessons images are often used to create that necessary visual aspect as well as to add some excitement to for example, a boring slide show consisting of class material. As stated in the posted week five slides you can create printable images to create worksheets that can be used in class on many different online sources such as the given example being powerpoint. This accessibility gives teachers limitless creativity, any type of image can be created and be turned into a learning prompt. A prompt to kickstart a discussion, a project, a thinking and problem solving process, and so much more. Editing photos and the creation of fun images in general is always going to be a helpful tool in the sense of building an enjoyable and appealing classroom environment for the students alone apart from the learning benefits. If each lesson involves the use of different forms of imagery this would provide the students with something new, fresh, and exciting to look forward to everyday. With the existence of artificial intelligence image creation programs only accelerating and becoming more frequent, the possibilities for teachers to create imagery to be used for student learning are quite literally endless. One of my friends has access to the AI-generated imagery system DALL-E so I asked him to use it to quickly create two photos for me for this reflection. I inserted a very vague and poor description of my appearance and told it to create me as a teacher in the classroom as well. You will find the images below, and it is a terrible depiction of me, and does not really look anything like me. But this ability is incredible, and with more detail perhaps AI generated imagery can create more accurate descriptions, I know there are some that ask for some selfies of yourself so it can really master the photo creation and make it super realistic. I did not want to go to those lengths however and rather wanted to show what AI generated imagery can create with limited information.
